Duncan
Insurance Agency was established in 1911 by Mr. T. L. Duncan.
Upon his death, the establishment was continued by his son, T.
L. Billy Duncan, Jr. until 1979 when he passed away.
At that time, his widow, Maurine Duncan managed the agency.
Mission Insurance Agency was established in 1927 by a Mr. Wolverton,
a retired military officer. In 1952, Orval Elkins, a life solicitor
for Mission Insurance Agency, became owner of the agency upon
the death of Mr. Wolverton. Mr. Elkins ran the business until
1973, at which time Brad Findley became a full 50% partner of
Mission Insurance Agency. In 1975, Orval Elkins sold the remaining
50% to Joe Roseland.
In the summer of 1980, Maurine Duncan sold Duncan Insurance Agency
as an equal partnership to Brad Findley and Joe Roseland.
On January 1, 1981, Mission/Duncan Insurance Agency was formed
with the merger of Mission Insurance Agency and Duncan Insurance
Agency. Mission/Duncan Insurance Agency is located in the Duncan
office building at 220 East Tom Landry in Mission, Texas.
On January 1, 1984, Mission/Duncan Insurance Agency was incorporated
with Brad Findley and Joe Roseland as the sole stockholders. Each
owned 50% of the issued stock.
On September 1, 1989, Mr. Brad Findley sold his 50% of issued
stock to Mr. Joe Roseland. Mr. Findley moved to Boerne, Texas
and is pursuing a different career field. In May of 1994, Joe
Roseland sold shares in the corporation to longtime employees
Sara Valdez and Sandra Zamora. They have both successfully completed
the requirements for their local recording agents license and
are active producers in the agency.
